    SOCK BURNING & OYSTER ROAST

"Burning of the Socks" is a unique Chesapeake Bay tradition believed to have started 45 or so years ago near Annapolis. Held around the Spring Equinox, participants burn their old socks to mark the end of winter and start of the boating season. We are hosting a bonfire this Friday at Sloop Point in Kinsale for all club members. A handful of generous neighbors are bringing over Yeocomico River oysters to roast, and we'll have fish sandwiches as well. BYOB, BYOsocks.
